I remember reading Leet some time ago, along with other articles linked to it (including the LEET programming language, which is actually kind of interesting).

I learned a lot that day. Some very interesting, obscure, things.

Oh wow, a joke about how the internet has people who say "LOL", the originality oozes from that one. But it doesn't compare to that one time he made fun of religion! The punchline on these comics, ohohoho!

The wiki entries are interesting, but people don't really talk l337, it's a dead language and a dead joke.

I think that comic is funny but not because of the comic itself, but because of the amount of irony involved in that guy talking about unadulterated stupidity.

Edit > And I agree with Legal, leet is pretty much dead and those wiki entries do a good job explaining the terms without getting into the flamming garbage that you see in most "let's flame something I don't like" kinda discussions on the subject.

I just found those entries (and the comic) hilarious because of the sheer absurdity of it all.

Is it me or does Legal Fish have an animosity towards any sort of art formed around a comic center?

That said, that's the second arts I'm a fan of that he's insulted. At least I don't know this guy personally like the last.

Who cares about the quality of his work? (You think his stuff is bad now, read the first few comics.) The fact that he's managed to make a living off it for the past few years speaks for itself.

I would love to see the esteemed and successful artwork of the Blood Red Poet.

No seriously, I'd love to see some.


About CAD, I'm a fan for a while now, so I've seen that one before. Not dumb enough to pay real money to get the TV show subscription though.

What I find interesting is that the term "Newbie" is locked. I wonder what sort of Vandalism merited that reaction?

There are good webcomics, like PBF, and even mediocre/popular comics, like VGCats and PennyArcade have occasionally decent entries amongst the meh. CAD has no silver lining though.

And you don't have to be an artist to criticize art, don't even try to make that point.

lol, b4, u, and so on isn't l337. The whole point of internet-slang is to make words shorter, "l337" requires more work than just keyboarding the word. It's fake and it's not funny.

I'm sure Fish doesn't like much of anything. I envision him spending his days in solemn silence, a stone monastery with no light or heat, frozen unblinkingly in the lotus position. For kicks he likes to be smacked repeatedly in his flexed belly with a cane.

Seriously, CAD is pretty funny. I don't peruse it regularly, I enjoy it when I do. It's not meant to be taken seriously, which makes it funnier still when you keep that in mind. I enjoy many forms of art, not the least of which being satirical webcomics. Art, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder, which makes it more than a little ridiculous to go so far as to belittle one form over another. Unless you're Michaelangelo, Da Vinci, Georgia O'Keefe, Andy Warhol, Alex Ross, or Jay Anacleto, you don't really have room to criticize.

Not vandalism so much as "Silly, Immature edits". First put on there on May 24 2007 -- and, looking through the history... it's needed.

PA is widely recognized as the best web comic (at least based around gaming) ever.
